About Dr. B. Kishore Gupta:
Dr. B. K. Gupta is the Vice President of MK Diagnostics, Inc. He received his Medical Degree in 1974 at Kasturba Medical College, University of Mysore, India. Dr. Gupta earned his Diploma in Psychological Medicine in 1981 from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons in England. In 1982, he completed his Family Medicine training, and was certified in Family Medicine by the Royal College of General Practitioners, England. From 1983-86, Dr. Gupta completed his residency in Psychiatry at the University of Rochester School of Medicine, Strong Memorial Hospital Rochester, New York.
Following this Dr. Gupta received his certification from the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology in 1986, Certification in Family and Marriage Therapy in 1987 (University of Rochester School of Medicine) and concurrently worked on his Fellowship in Affective and Eating Disorders in 1986-1987 (University of Rochester School of Medicine).
He is currently on staff at two psychiatric hospitals in Louisville, Kentucky USA and maintains professional memberships with the American Psychiatric Association, American Medical Society of Alcoholism and other Drug Dependence, American Association of Marital and Family Therapy, and is also a lifetime member of the American Association of Physicians from India.
Dr. Gupta’s research interests include; biological markers for depression, neurotransmitter changes in Schizophrenia, treatment of Schizophrenia using Psychoeducational approaches, naso-pharyngeal EEG in psychiatric disorders, circadian rhythms in affective disorders, use of phototherapy in the treatment of seasonal affective disorders, depression in Parkinsonism, and use of MAO inhibitors in the treatment of depression associated with Parkinson’s disease. He has also become greatly interested in the development of computer softwares that will simplify and enhance the day to day workings of medical practices.
